News for March

posted Mar 2, 2010 1:48 PM by Office Secretary

Dear Members and Friends of Central Square,

At the Council meeting of February 21st, it was decided to hold a Prayer and Share service with music this Sunday, March 7th at 1:30 in the Fireside Room at Central Square. Those present felt the need for us to stay in contact with each other in the hope of reestablishing our fellowship in the future. Marje Johnson will be in charge of the service and we hope that you all will come. It will be quite informal and give us a chance to sing and pray together once again.

Our plans proceed for the Easter Service at 10 AM on Sunday April 4th. The Diaconate is planning this service.

We would like to remind you that the Prayer Chain is still operating and to urge you to call Marje Johnson at 797-4833 to start the chain for anyone in need. One person who is on our hearts right now is Nikki Davison, the daughter of Ellen Faulkner. Nikki has suffered a recurrence of her brain cancer and is in need of our prayers. Because of the tremendous costs associated with her treatment some fund raisers are being held that you may wish to attend. One of these which you may enjoy is A Concert Of Life And Love For the Benefit of Nikki Davisson to be held on Sunday, April 11, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, Congress Street, Portland (next to Westgate Shopping Plaza) A free-will offering will be taken. For more information about Nikki and her progress, check out the website:

www.helpournikki.net

Also In order for us to keep everyone informed about the church and our people, we are asking those of you who have email to share your address with us. This would allow us to be more timely in giving you updated information as well as saving us the cost of postage for mailing letters. We gave up our bulk mailing because of the annual cost and so all mailings now go first class. That is why this letter is only being sent to those who have been regular attendees of our services. If you know of someone who did not receive this letter and should, please notify me at 774-5446 or email atmlewis@maine.rr.com. Please use that email address to provide me with your email address for future use.

The next Council Meeting will be held at 1:30 in the Fireside Room on March 21st. Everyone is welcome.

On behalf of the Church Council,

Mary Lewis
